St. Joseph's Villa of Rochester helps youth, families, and the community by
providing the highest quality mental health and supportive services.

Volunteer to be a friend, a good role model to an adolescent in need. Spend a minimum
of two times a month in the community with this young person. Minimum age is 21.
Agency orientation, training & supervision provided.

Saint’s Place is a Christian values-based ministry that assists people, regardless
of their race or creed, seeking a fresh start. Talents, resources, and time are shared
with those who have suffered because of violence, injustice, war, discrimination, and poverty.

Volunteer to be a Student Advocate/Tutor/or Driver: minimum of 1 day per week
(Thursday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm) to counsel refugee students at the Saint's Place
Ministry Center. Volunteer must work the school year. Each volunteer will be paired
with a student to assist in understanding and completing their homework assignments.

Volunteers must also be willing to work as a liaison for the student in case school
supplies or other support is needed. Students range in age from 5 to 18. Drivers are
especially needed to bring the students to the program and back home again each week.

Daystar provides complete medical childcare services: 24-hour foster care;
Monday through Friday medical daycare/respite and advocacy for infants ages birth through
three years who have serious medical complications, physical disabilities, and developmental needs.

Volunteer to help with medically frail infants and toddlers in a therapeutic foster home for
"special needs" infants and toddlers (substance abused; failure to thrive; AIDS infected;
seriously ill.) Must have experience in working with children.

SOCIETY FOR THE PROTECTION AND CARE OF CHILDREN

The Society for the Protection and Care of Children provides counseling and advocacy for
children and families.

Volunteer to monitor once-a-week, one-hour visits between children and parents who are involved
in adversarial custody proceedings. These are held at the agency's offices.


Fundraising Assistants are needed to help with the annual golf tournament as well as many other
fundraisers throughout the year. After-school program at Clara Barton School #2 needs tutors, mentors,
and homework helpers. If you have a hobby or an area of expertise or interest, you can come in and
share this with the children.

Donate balls, basketballs, board games, bubbles, crafts supplies: construction paper, glue sticks,
bead kits, models to assemble, markers, crayons, writing paper, paper for drawing, diapers,
large household items (new): sheets, blankets, dishes, silverware, jump ropes, Play-Doh, snack items,
individually wrapped.

SOJOURNER HOUSE

Sojourner House provides a home for women who are committed to rebuilding their lives.
Here, they and their children live in a safe community for up to 6 months, participating
in counseling, educational, and recovery programs.

Tutor seven year olds and up during the school year with various subjects.
Assist with children's field trips.

Threshold provides health care, education and counseling to adolescents and young adults
between the ages of 12 and 25.

Volunteer to work with teens at risk. Tutors needed for high school drop-outs.
No evenings or weekends.

Two Doors Community Resource Center provides a caring heart, an attentive ear and helping
hand to support the educational and developmental needs of our neighborhood family.

Volunteer to tutor elementary school children Monday through Thursday 3-6pm. Help with
homework on a 2:1 adult/child basis, have snack, visit and participate in different craft,
game, and computer activities.
