Family Resource Centers of Rochester provide parent and early childhood education,
link families to essential services and support families as they advocate
and care for themselves and their children.

Donate books and puzzles to be left in the home after a home visit:
age-appropriate for infants through 5 years old.

Volunteer to accompany and assist a trained home visitor in monthly home visits
based on the "Born to Learn" curriculum, a nationally recognized program in child development.

Peter Castle Family Resource Center provides high-quality early education programs and parent
education in a safe supportive environment.

Volunteer to be a classroom aide in classes that are divided into 2-year-olds,
3-year-olds, and 4-year-olds.

The Pirate Toy Fund provides toys for children in need in our community.

Volunteer to help with toy sorting, organizing, putting toy orders together and general office work.

Reach Out and Read is a pediatric early-literacy program designed to encourage literacy
development in young children. ROR reaches children beginning at 6 months of age through their
pediatrician and provides them with a book at each well-child visit, as well as
providing parents with the education and support they need to make books an important
part of their children's lives.

Volunteer to read to children as they wait for their appointment in pediatric clinic
waiting rooms throughout the Rochester area. Training provided. Donate children's books
(new and gently-used.)

Rochester General Pediatrics Associates serves over 14,000 children and their families
in the urban areas of Rochester, high-risk and diverse population of African-American,
Hispanic, and risk-type families.

Volunteer to read to children in waiting lobby. Donate books for 6 to 12 years: e.g.,
Harry Potter books, money for smoking cessation program, to help stop smoking safety
kits for parents of infants, toddlers: plug protectors, safety latches for cabinets,
gates, thermometers, digital (inexpensive), toothbrushes and toothpaste for kids, toys.

Provides lodging, emotional support, and comfort to families of children receiving
medical treatment at area hospitals, and reaches out to families in the community
with support to other children's programs.

Donate new items including batteries: AA, AAA, C, D, 9-volt, cleaning supplies,
feminine supplies, first-aid supplies, flashlights, night lights, food (individual
sizes, all kinds, linens, etc.

The Salvation Army provides a wide range of humanitarian assistance to hundreds of people
in the Greater Rochester Community.

Volunteer to help with math tutoring weekdays anytime between 8:30am and 4pm.
Specific subjects needed are fractions, 5th and 6th grade math, and basic algebra.
