Cameron has developed programs to meet the needs of the Lyell-Otis
neighborhood where a significant number of families live in poverty.

Volunteer to tutor children in the first to sixth grades in the after
school program during the school year. Volunteer at summer camp with
field trips, computer programs and more.

Camp Good Days and Special Times provides a camping experience and more for children
and adults facing the toughest challenges of life.

Volunteer to be a Children Coping Support Group leader to co-facilitate bereavement
or illness support groups. 10-week commitment, 1 night per week.

Catholic Charities Community Services offers support and services to persons
with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and HIV/AIDS disease
without regard to religion or ability to pay.

Donate cameras, food, personal items, clothes (new), sheets and towels (new),
cleaning supplies, tickets to movies and community events, craft supplies to
help youth and their families dealing with a member infected by the HIV/AIDS virus.

Camp S.O.A.R provides camping and recreational activities to children infected or
affected by HIV/AIDS disease.

Volunteer to be a counselor at Camp S.O.A.R. Medical staff and lifeguards are
needed for summer activities. Chaperones for year-round activities needed.

Catholic Family Center provides emergency services (food and clothing), as well
as counseling and referrals; placement services for adoption and foster care;
intervention and therapy for abused children; and violence prevention program for at-risk youth.

Donate bus passes, car seats, clothing, diapers, food, personal items, baby formula, etc.

THE CENTER FOR YOUTH

The Center for Youth provides free and confidential services to youth, ages 12-21 and their families.
Volunteer to play, read and interact with babies and toddlers 1-4 years old while their
teenage parents are attending mandatory workshops and meetings.

Volunteer as a Drop-In Center Assistant to socialize with teens at the Friday Night
Drop-In Center. Play games, watch movies, talk with and enjoy the company of teens.
Help distribute coats, gloves, blankets and sleeping bags.

Volunteer for the Saving Kids One-At-A-Time/Host Home Program by offering a emergency
housing for runaway and homeless youth. Host Home volunteers open their homes to youth
12-17 years of age and provide a stable, safe haven that enables the youth to resolve
the crisis and develop solutions.

Volunteer as a Phone Counselor to provide support, information and referral services to
callers in crisis, youth looking for emergency housing, or just someone to talk to.
Must be 19 years old or over.

The Cerebral Palsy Association of the Rochester Area exists to support people with
physical and developmental disabilities in choosing and accomplishing successive
individualized life goals.

Volunteer to be a swim assistant for our preschool program. Volunteers will assist
program staff in offering a safe swim opportunity for children ages 18 months to
5 years. Need to be available at various times during the school day, Monday through Thursday.

Volunteer to be a horseback riding assistant to assist disabled young riders in a
therapeutic setting. Volunteer must be available at least one hour per six week session.

Volunteer to be a classroom aide, assisting staff in a preschool setting, working one-on-one
with children, assisting with feeding, helping clean and setup classroom.

Community Lutheran Ministry provides tutoring, counseling, and career development for
elementary school children ages 4 to 13. We also give clothes, shoes, and school
supplies to school-age children; and provide some household items for needy families.
Our teen program provides career development help for teens ages 13 to 16.

Volunteer to help with after-school tutoring: math and reading.

COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES (CASA)

CASA of Rochester is an organization dedicated to helping children unable to stand up
for themselves in the light of abuse and neglect. Court Appointed Special Advocates are
appointed to foster care cases by Monroe County Family Court judges to assist in foster
care cases to ensure that the needs of the child are visible to the courts.

Advocate for an abused or neglected child. 30 hour training session in classroom and
Family Court will prepare you to be sworn-in and assigned a case where you will advocate
for an abused or neglected child who no longer can reside in their family structure.

This course is offered three times each year. There will be a cost of $10.00 for all materials.

CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE

Child Care Assistance provides early childhood education, parenting education,
and early intervention services.

Volunteer to assist teachers in child care while parents are in group meetings.

Children Awaiting Parents, Inc. (CAP) is dedicated to finding adoptive homes
for special needs children—older, minority, may have mental, physical and/or emotional disabilities.

Volunteer to help up to 5 hours a week with light office work to help this organization
to facilitate adoptions for special needs children.

The Dream Factory, Inc. is a volunteer organization dedicated to granting the dreams
of children with critical or chronic illnesses between the ages of 3-18.

Volunteer: Meet at regular meetings the third Monday of each month to find out
about opportunities available for helping raise funds and fulfill dreams for
critically and chronically ill children.
